Praetoria takes its name from the praetor of Roman law. The praetor did not decide cases. He came before judgment, clarifying claims, organising facts, and framing disputes so they could be decided. Judgment belonged to the iudex. Context belonged to the praetor. Praetoria applies the same logic to modern legal work. Legal judgment cannot be automated and should not be replaced. What slows teams down is what comes before judgment. Missing facts, unclear scope, and fragmented context. Praetoria performs the praetorian role. It structures requests, gathers the right information, and prepares the context. Legal remains the iudex. Praetoria prepares. Lawyers decide.
